Equine-Assisted Occupational Therapy
Using the natural movement of the horse during treatment (known as hippotherapy) and by participating in horse related therapeutic activities your child will: ● Increase trunk strength, balance, and tone ● Improve gross and fine motor coordination and planning ● Regulate their sensory system to include tactile, proprioceptive, and vestibular processing ● Develop better social skills and emotional regulation ● Improve problem solving, sequencing, and organization. ● Increase confidence and self-esteem ● Develop adaptive coping strategies ● Decrease anxiety, frustration and impulsivity |
